Week 12 Reading Part A

Tales of Beowulf are an interesting collection of stories revolving around the mythic Anglo hero. This is a very interesting topic to read about because although most of the stories we read in American classrooms growing up are Western based, Beowulf is not as popular as it used to be. Throughout the story there are themes of kinship that stress individual sacrifice for the community. This starkly changes in the coming decades.
