Week 9 - Reading Notes Part B

In the second set of the readings from Chinese Fairy Tales struck me as leaning towards the personalities of people and a way to explain natural phenomenon through super-natural means. There were qualities presented in the stories such as observation and patience that ultimately bode well for the character that exuded them. In the analysis of these qualities we can see what values the culture treasured above all else. This insight is significant when analyzing the stories for themes and patterns during story writing. The only way to do justice to the culture is by fully embracing the qualities that it places on a pedestal and having a disdain for qualities it neglects.
