Reading Notes - African Stories (Lang) Part B

The tales of Hassebu, the Heart of the Monkey, and Makoma all focus on the ability to outwit their opponent. This is another characteristic that they share in these tales. I believe it is important to look at the animals that they present as well as many of them are common in all regions, not just Africa. The virtues highlighted in the stories are universal.
